What did you think of “The Last Exorcism’s” killer ending?

Going the Distance premieres nationwide in theaters September 3rd. Drew Barrymore is one of my favorite actresses so I will be there!

In addition to some PDA and private moments caught by the photographers at the event between Drew and Justin (or maybe that was all for show, are they on again? I thought they were off…), we saw a glowing and pregnant Christina Applegate showing off her baby bump on the red carpet. She looked stunning! You can see those pictures here.

So what’s the premise of the movie? To sum it up, a couple try to survive a long distance relationship – one in New York (Long), the other in San Francisco (Barrymore). Ahhhh. Most of us have gone through this, right? It’s tough, no doubt. You know the saying, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Yeah, sometimes it does, and other times you simply drift apart. If you’ve tried to have a relationship long distance, was yours a happy ending?

As you all probably know, or maybe don’t know, Barrymore and Long have had an on again, off again relationship in real life over the last couple of years. It’s really not clear if they are back on, as reports surfaced last month that they quietly split. Who knows? The two were asked on the red carpet:

What’s it like to work with someone you’ve had an on-again, off-again romantic relationship with?

Drew: “Awful, just awful.”

Justin: “I wouldn’t say awful. I’d say ‘meh.’ M-e-h, if you need to quote me. No, it was great.”

The Joaquin Phoenix I’m Still Here trailer video is a tad disturbing and certainly brings the strange, but would you expect anything less from an odd duck like Phoenix? Despite having announced his retirement just a couple years back, the documentary titled I’m Still Here brings the obvious…Joaquin isn’t leaving the entertainment industry anytime soon. In a Casey Affleck narrated movie, we get a look inside Joaquin’s bizarre year of life that hopefully explains the probably rat-infested locks and beard, the disheveled appearance of the Oscar-winning actor and the explanation of his desire to retire from acting to become a hip hop star. We have the Joaquin Phoenix I’m Still Here trailer video here. The documentary about Joaquin’s year of confusion and crazy antics is set to release early September of 2010. The question that has boggled many critics and fans’ minds is whether or not Phoenix is simply acting like a freak and manipulating the minds of media critics or if he really has lost his marbles.

If you recall, Phoenix spent much of the year 2009 donning a scruffed out beard and a disheveled appearance. And you may or may not remember that David Letterman interview that looked like Phoenix had a tad too many of some foreign substance. At any rate, this particular film takes a look inside the life of Phoenix as he lives his life as an A-list celebrity. From press for his film Two Lovers, from the infamous David Letterman interview, his party lifestyle to his decision to become a rapper, this documentary covers it all.

There has been weeks of speculation of just who would play the part of Stieg Larsson’s adaptation The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Well, wait no more because Rooney Mara has landed the part! Be sure to check out pictures and videos below!

According to reports, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Rooney Mara, will star opposite actor Daniel Craig in the U.S. remake of the best-seller novel says Columbia Pictures. Twenty-five year old Mara’s character, Lisbeth Salander, is “the smart but anti-social pixie-haired hacker and investigator. While Craig will role as a “journalist and amateur sleuth Mikael Blomkvist. But question is…was she the most suitable leading lady for the part? Other hopefuls included: Carey Mulligan, Ellen Page, and Natalie Portman.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be directed by the creative David Fincher. This wouldn’t be the first time Mara and Fincher have collaborated. They worked together on “The Social Network” as well, it goes without saying, I’m sure he kind of had a hunch that she would be quite fitting for the part. Filming is said to begin next month. Their anticipated work will reportedly hit the big screen in December of 2011.

You may recognize Mara in the following filmography: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Tanner Hall, Youth in Revolt, Friends (With Benefits), The Winning Season, Dare, Dream Boy, ER, The Cleaner, Women’s Murder Club, and SVU.

Now back to the movie that has people talking. Once more people have seen it, I see this movie as one that will be seriously discussed and people will try to extract all of the meanings behind it. After seeing the trailer the first time I was hooked, and now with some reviews and hints about the dramatic ending, I can’t wait until I see it!

At this point, premium cable networks like HBO and Showtime should be worried. Netflix announced today an alliance with Relativity Media to exclusively stream Relativity films several months after their DVD release — a time period that’s referred to as the “pay TV” window. The deal effectively turns Netflix into a legitimate pay TV player, competing with the likes of established premium cable networks, reports The Wrap . It grants Netflix licensing rights to all of the films that Relativity controls distribution for — including upcoming films like “The Fighter” starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, and the much-hyped documentary “Catfish.” Traditionally, pay TV deals are big money makers for Hollywood — they bring in over $100 million a year for every major studio.
