Well it seems like all is not well in American Idol, first it was Crystal Bowersox to check into a hospital for complication in diabetes resulting in the boys singing on girl’s night, and then it was Paige Miles!
Paige seemed to have caught on a bad case of laryngitis, and this surely created a major impact on her Tuesday’s performance. Probably this was one of the reason’s she was seen in the list of bottom three performers!
This is what Paige posted on American Idol’s Facebook Page, “I have no voice at all! Doctor says it’s VC Laryngitis with swelling so pray for me!”
Looks like she had enough of people praying for her, or else we would have seen her being axed out during eliminations.
Despite her sore throat, she was quiet determined though to get to the top 12 contestants and this is what she had to say, “I will make it work regardless but what a way [to] start Top 12. Still excited for today! Big stage now!!!!!”
Paige chose to sing “Honky Tonk Woman” for the Rolling Stones night, and managed to just about pull it off. She was a bit shaky in the start and her voice kind of gave way when she took in those deep registers. However when she sang high notes, she was sweet and great.
Randy Jackson said in almost similar tones, “You kind of pulled it out” but he also wished she’d display some more energy.
Ellen was a bit nice to her and it was probably the sympathy speaking when she said, “You sounded great, and no one would know you had been struggling with your voice.”
Kara too was encouraging and liked the song despite what she was going though.
Simon asked her if she had a voice problem, and she replied saying “I have laryngitis”. Simon then went on to say, “Well, taking that into account, it was great.”
